NEW POST

Hey Home Skillets! My website is under some MAJOR construction right now so please be patient with me. The new site will be up soon!

Stop Saying That! UGHHH!!!

One of my biggest pet peeves when speaking about health and fitness is when a person says things like, "what's the use of eating healthy? I know people that did and they still got sick and died."

This has to be one of the biggest cop outs I hear (from friends and fam). Who ever said that the body will live forever??? None of us are immune to sickness and death BUT why not take care of the body you have while you have it? It's like having a car. You know it won't run forever, but just because you know people that have problems with the same car as yours does that mean you will stop taking care of it? HECK NO! Because that just makes it that much sooner that you will go from having a great car to spending all your money on repairs, getting a new one or riding the bus...lol. So why not enjoy and care for the body you have while you have it.

Positive Mind For Positive Results!

Slowly but surely I am making progress in my fit journey.
One thing about trying to reach a fitness goal is that you MUST change your perspective about reaching them. Instead of saying things like, "By the end of three months I want my body to look like that" start saying "I look forward to seeing the progress I'll make in three months."
This type of thinking has motivated me to keep going on my journey because I have something realistic to look forward to. If you set your goals based on what you want to look like in a set amount of time, what will happen if midway you notice you aren't making the changes you expected? Motivation lost.

So get your mind in check and stay positive!
Don't forget to take your monthly progress photos (it's never too late to start if you haven't already) and just say no to the scale! Get yourself some measuring tape...its is way more accurate!

Maybelline Does BB Cream!

So if you haven't already heard, Maybelline has come out with a BB Cream.  For some of you this doesn't mean much to you at all but for others this is pretty big. Especially since BB creams are very limited on shades.

Now I'm not a drugstore foundation type person at all, but I was super surprised at how well this stuff works!

Here is a before and after shot of me using the BB Cream.

One thing that I have to admit is that the American version of BB creams fall more into the category of "tinted moisturizers".  The Asian BB creams are much thicker and provide a heavier coverage than [for instance] the Maybelline BB Cream.
I am also certain that more benefits of BB creams may be found in using the Asian versions as well. However it has been said that the Smashbox BB cream is pretty up there in quality and beneficial properties.
